It is hight time to post the following titles from the grand anthology from the Editions du Ministere de l'Information from Mali! I already posted Premiere anthologie de la musique Malienne - 5 Cordes Anciennes here sometime back and have had all the rest lined up since then, but alas editing takes its time also. I am happy to share with you music I have had more or less since the release and have cherished so many years. I find it hard to say what volumes are to prefer I think it is a very good quality all around. There is two more series from Mali, one of them called Musique du Mali, and to my knowledge only consisting of 3 volumes. I will post that series here as well but I have still some editing and pending material before it can be presented.
Hope you enjoy this one and its companions in the meanwhile and wishing you a happy 2011!
I will be posting much more african music this year but mostly field recordings and maybe a little popular music, but I feel we are already very well served by some wonderful blogs, like my favourites, worldservice, Global Groove, freedomblues, Oro, Awesome Tapes from Africa and several others.
