Nice to see you around here Nauma, hope you like the music!

And likewise Miguel,

I am Very, very happy that the music was appreciated by you as I hoped it would be! I don't know how many times over I have heard it myself, but I could not resists to listen through both albums right after having posted them, even though I listened when, I was preparing the files!

that's very true Bolingo, preparing a file is quite different from wholly enjoying the music.almost always I need a final listen to recapture the initial essence,as for the 2 mbaqanga posted(they seem the ideal Luobanyan anthems during the high times of Beijing )as an "oldtimer" fan myself I will celebrate them more than properly,it's only pity that these hopes echoed here, were cut short soon after.
the connection I found is that of C. B. Matiwane producer and co-composer of the Good Boys that has been a prolific producer of the genre ,notably for names as Mahlathini ,or the Mahlathini Queens, the Indestructible Beat of Soweto series etc.
Marks Mankwane was the producer and guitarist of the Mahotella Queens among others
more of him you can read here

Great info Nauma!

You would not possibly have a copy of the Mathaka Vol 1 as well the 1983 rerecording album by the Makgona Tsohle Band reuniting and plyaing their older hits that is also mentioned in the Wikipedia?

Do you know if there was any connection with the Boyoyo Boys?

Also found this Boyouyo Boys 7' while out strolling in the blogovoid...

Not only for the quite enjoyable music but also for the sleeve that has an interesting backside ;-) with some more discographic info. Nothing that sheds any light on a possible connection though. The producer of that record was David Thekwane..

Maybe we can all find out from this book?

Anyone has a .pdf of that so he could check? Here is a part on the Boyoyo Boys and more about David Thekwane from the innards of that book ;-)

Hm why is it that links look so ugly in the comments any way to contain them with some tags?

And the link to the 7' came in the wrong place at the end...

Here it is again:
